Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale supercar 2025 V6-engined SUPERCAR

Alfa Romeo Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale is getting back into the exotic sports car market with the extremely limited-production 33 Stradale. Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, a renowned coachbuilder, will build the supercar. Power comes from a twin-turbo V-6 engine that Alfa claims produces more than 620 horsepower, or a battery-electric system that should produce more than 750 horsepower. According to the brand, both powertrains will accelerate the 33 Stradale to 60 mph in less than 3.0 seconds. The 33 Stradale’s design is appealing, in addition to its performance capabilities. It has a retro-futuristic design that incorporates parts of Alfa’s original 33 Stradale from the late 1960s with modern design cues.

We don’t know many specifics about the 33 Stradale’s interior, but based on images, it appears to be a sleek and well-trimmed cockpit with minimum modern technology cluttering the design. The center console’s attractive metal buttons operate features such as the front-axle lift system. There are additional physical switches for the launch control system and the driving mode selection. A three-spoke steering wheel and a big instrument pod confront the driver. Very good!

Regardless of the engine the 33 customers choose (during the car’s debut, the split was between 70 and 80 percent choosing for the V6, with the remaining going for the EV option, although Alfa indicated some buyers are considering altering their ICE order for an EV to’make a statement’). both reported to have a top speed of 200+mph, with the V6 topping out at 207mph and the BEV at more than 192mph. Both models can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in less than three seconds.

Alfa boasts that the car will be at home on both the track and the road, with Strada and Pista drive modes available, as well as a launch control option. Standard features include double-wishbone suspension and active dampers (as well as a 50mm front axle lift for speed bumps that can be triggered below 25mph). The exhibition car has 20-inch wheels front and rear, with Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres measuring 245/35 in the front and 305/30 in the back.

The 33 Stradale also has a brake-by-wire system that operates Brembo-supplied carbon-ceramic brakes, with six-piston calipers at the front and four-pot units at the back (painted in any color the buyer wants), clamping 390mm and 360mm discs front and rear.

Development is taking place at Alfa Romeo’s Balocco test track, and F1 driver Valtteri Bottas is said to be engaged – though the extent of his involvement is unclear.

While Alfa’s engineers believe the 33 Stradale with the V6 engine and DCT will weigh around 1500kg, which is almost 200kg lighter than a Maserati MC20, the BEV is likely to weigh more than 2000kg.

Alfa Romeo’s head of design, Alejandro Mesonero-Romanos, has overseen the style of the new 33 Stradale. Mesonero-Romanos joined the firm in 2021 after previously being design boss at Seat and temporarily in charge of Dacia design at Renault.

Much of the exterior is carbonfibre, with a structure resembling Maserati’s MC20 supercar (which, oddly, began as a stillborn Alfa Romeo concept…). The 33’s roof structure is a blend of carbon and aluminum, with a pair of carbon butterfly doors carved into the roof. The rear window is composed of weight-saving polycarbonate.

The 33 Stradale had an overall length of 4.6 metres, a wheelbase of 2.7 metres, and a width of 2.1 meters from wing mirror tip to wing mirror. At 1.2 meters tall, it’s a squat, slender automobile that adds weight to the original’s elegant lines. To save you time looking them up, its dimensions are identical to an MC20, but the Alfa appears smaller and more delicate.

The Touring Superleggera coachbuilding company, a famous name known for building one-of-a-kind and low-volume orders based on rebodied existing vehicles, will assemble the 33 cars.

The petrol engine option is a twin-turbo 3-litre V6, which is projected to produce 607bhp. Alfa Romeo sought to avoid revealing too much information about the engine’s specifications, simply stating that it is a development of the Giulia Quadrifoglio’s 2.9-litre turbo-charged V6 and is located longitudinally in the middle of the car. The Maserati MC20’s Nettuno 3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 is an evolution of the Alfa engine, but with its own cylinder heads, compression ratio, and pre-chamber ignition system.

Petrol-powered 33 Stradales will be rear-wheel-drive only, with the same eight-speed dual-clutch Tremec gearbox as the MC20, rather than the Giulia’s eight-speed ZF automatic; an e-diff will also be installed.

Electric versions will include an 800v design, a 102kWh battery (90 kWh usable), and all-wheel drive, with a total power output of 750bhp and an expected range of 280 miles. Alfa’s engineering team will determine whether to adopt a tri-motor setup like Maserati’s MC20 Folgore or just one motor per axle.
