Samsung Galaxy S24: Full Specs, Price, and Release Date

Samsung has had a busy year. The Galaxy S23 series was released at the start of 2023. And we received the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 this summer, two of the best folding phones of the year. However, it is never too early to speculate on the company’s next smartphone portfolio. If Samsung follows to its previous calendar plan, the Samsung Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra should be launched in early 2024.

What can we expect from these phones with regard to of features, design, price, and so on? Let’s take a look at what we know (so far) about the Samsung Galaxy S24.

Samsung Galaxy S24 release date and pricing predictions

The Samsung Galaxy S24 series will be unveiled at a Galaxy Unpacked event in January or February 2024. The Galaxy S23 was released on the first of February of this year, and according to @Tech_Reve, Samsung may move the release date forward by “around a month” in response to the iPhone 15.

According to the most recent Samsung Galaxy S24 release date rumor, the phone would be available on January 17 at a launch event in San Jose, California. If that’s the real deal and not just a rumor, the new phones should be on store shelves before the end of January.

The new Samsung Galaxy S24 phones may share the stage with other new Samsung gadgets, as the Galaxy S23 did with the Galaxy Book 3 series this year, but we expect the event to be primarily focused on the new phones.

Pricing is currently unknown, but we expect Samsung will maintain the phones’ existing $799, $999, and $1,199 price points. We hope for this, especially in the United Kingdom and Australia, where the Galaxy S23 is slightly more expensive than the Galaxy S22, at £849/£1,049/£1,249 and AU$1,349/AU$1,649/AU$1,949, respectively.

The cameras of the Samsung Galaxy S24

So far, all camera rumors have revolved around the S24 Ultra. This phone, like the previous model, should have a 200MP main camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. However, improvements to the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s telephoto lens are possible.

The Ultra has had two 10MP cameras with 3x and 10x zoom for several years. According to Ice Universe on x, the 3x zoom camera will most likely remain at 10MP. However, with a substantially higher 50MP sensor resolution, the maximum zoom could dip to 5x this time. While this may appear to be a downgrade, it isn’t because of the higher resolution.

Battery of Samsung Galaxy S24

Generally, but not always, the larger a smartphone’s battery, the longer its battery life. If this trend continues into 2024, all three Galaxy S24 models may experience improvements.

The Galaxy S24 will use a 4,000 mAh battery, similar to the one used on the Galaxy S21, according to Dutch news outlet Galaxy Club. The batteries on the Galaxy S22 and S23 are 3,700 mAh and 3,900 mAh, respectively.

The S24 Plus has a 4,900 mAh battery, which compares favorably to the S23 Plus’ 4,700 mAh cell. Meanwhile, reports say that the S24 Ultra will retain its 5,000 mAh capacity.

AI in the Samsung Galaxy S24

AI in the Samsung Galaxy S24

AI-powered features are all the rage in smartphones these days, and Samsung appears to be following suit. According to a Korean rumor, the phone maker would incorporate AI into the Galaxy S24 series, delivering experiences similar to those found on Google’s Pixel phones powered by its own Tensor chipsets.

The generative AI on board the Galaxy S24 will be known as Samsung Gauss. It is said to power features such as the capacity to summarize papers, translate text in third-party apps, and help you draft e-mails, among other things.

According to one story, Samsung would charge a subscription fee for its AI-powered features, though we’re not sure how much stock to place in that assertion. If you want to make people enthusiastic about your smartphone’s AI features, that seems like an unusual tactic.
